Membranes for press filter system
with cylindrical presses.
The press filter membranes are polyurethane tubes that are placed inside a press that compresses the sludge to remove water and produce a solid, which is technically called a "biscuit" or "mud cake".
The membranes work continuously, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, until they break due to elastic fatigue. In this particular case, Politec replaced a spare part that was produced in the United States and had an extremely limited duration in time, at best, not exceeding 60 days.
Through a careful study of the formulation of raw materials, and an impeccable production process characterized by the total absence of micro air bubbles and other imperfections in the membranes produced, Politec is able to build pieces that last more than 12 months.
Politec is currently experimenting with a further improvement in performance, thanks to the use of new raw materials with better resistance to elastic fatigue (flex life) properties.
