Polyurethane is an excellent damping material for systems subjected to strong vibrations. A common example is that of silent blocks for industrial equipment such as compressors.
Polyurethane absorbs vibration and dampens it. It is also possible to construct artifacts composed of two parts; the first part amplifies and conveys the vibrations to the second part, which, on the other hand, dampens them.
